The RENNtech Super-Light Series, or SL Series RENNtech’s latest and most technologically advanced production wheel ever produced.
The Super-Light Series configuration is developed by utilizing an intensive engineering process and defining key developmental elements such as; specific vehicle load / GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating), weight-optimization, and strict FEA parameters (finite element analysis). This powerful technology allows us to engineer the SL Series wheels specifically to the vehicle’s exact load rating and strength requirements as well as the intended use or driving style the wheels will primarily be used for.
The end result equates to the absolute lightest, strongest, best performing wheel possible, within the vehicle’s specific parameters. This is an exhaustive process that involves extensive computer-enhanced engineering in order to fully optimize the wheel to its maximum potential, minimum weight and highest strength. All optimization parameters conform to German TUV Certification testing requirements, the worlds’ most demanding wheel strength requirements primarily for Europe’s Autobahn highway safety regulations.
What makes the RENNtech SL Series superior to any other aftermarket Mercedes-Benz specific wheel?
The all new for 2015, RENNtech SL Series wheels are developed utilizing the world’s most state-of-the-art Finite Element Analysis technology. This computerized technology simulates, at the design and engineering stage, the incredible stresses to which the wheels are exposed to on the racetrack, under maximum cornering and acceleration and at the highest speeds. This amazing system has enabled this specific wheel program to achieve maximum wheel weight reduction, while simultaneously improving wheel strength and durability. The development process is implemented on all of the RENNtech SL series wheels and is a required document for TUV testing certifications; as a result we’ve learned to engineer the wheels to meet incredible tolerance and strength demands while minimizing weight at the same time.

RENNtech is proud to have ADV.1 Wheels as their strategic wheel manufacturing partner. ADV.1 has become an industry leading, US based TUV Certified manufacturer; meaning their wheels, product quality, customer support, manufacturing process, facility & equipment, materials, etc. all meet or exceed the TUV’s standards. The new RENNtech SL Series is a direct result of their 3 year TUV Certification project which began in 2010 and has been officially approved in late 2013.
Additional Weight Reduction Features
Backpad pocketing process
Backpad pocketing is standard on our SL Series wheels. The process allows us to eliminate excess material around the hub / backpad surface area which reduces weight. In most cases, weight reduction can range from .75 lbs. to 1.2 lbs. per wheel.
Lathe Grooved backpad process
This intricate feature is also standard on our SL Series wheels. The Lathe Grooved backpad option allows us to reduce additional weight from the backpad by eliminating excess material, similar to the pocketing process. The lathe groove process on average will reduce weight from 0.5 lbs. to .75 lbs. per wheel.
